Liturgical dance is also referred to as Praise dance, Worship dance and or both Praise & Worship dance. The difference between liturgical dance and non liturgical dance is the FOCUS! Dance can focus on the performer or entertaining the audience however the the focus of our liturgical dance is God or Father and Jesus our Saviour. The steps of the dance must start with the heart with heart of the dancer. Our program combines some technical dance training in ballet, and modern with a strong biblical foundation and understanding of using dance as an artistic expression of praise and worship. The classes begin with teaching and application on entering the presence of God, then we move on to basic cardio, floor warm-ups, and exercises done center floor, as well as, across the floor combinations. Students then have the opportunity for application of their skills to praise and worship dances, worship sequences, spontaneous worship, and choreography techniques. Technical Enhancement Classes are offered as co-requisites in Ballet, Modern, Flag, Tambourines, Streamers and more. These classes are strongly recommended to improve each dancers technical ability.
We offer Liturgical classes for male and female students age 4 through adults.
